Holiday Button Tree Ornaments

I made these Pinterest inspired tree button ornaments to give as a gift to my teacher friends at our holiday party. I bought 8 count button packs (in various colors), gold stretchy ribbon and a pack of stars. I strung the buttons largest to smallest with the star on top and tied the two ends of ribbon together to make a hanger for the ornament. I could've added smaller buttons for a trunk but did not.

Favor Envelopes:
I created favor envelopes by cutting scrapbook Christmas paper into half, folding it and sewing it closed. Easy, small, and relatively inexpensive gifts to give (cute too)!
Gotta love Pinterest!

Conference Table Repaint 6.10.22

My office had dated, heavy, cherry office furniture. I wanted a more modern, relaxed styled office. The conference table has a great basic style so I decided to paint it to match. Before I used Zinsser cover stain to prep the wood surface. I love this cover stain because it doesn’t require any sanding! It’s an oil based primer and works fabulously! I used 2 coats using a trim roller on the large parts and a brush for the nooks and crannies. I applied 2 coats for full coverage.  I’ve used this process on my kitchen cabinets and they still look great with no chips. Read that blog entry here:  http://beulahbags.blogspot.com/2012/04/2911-kitchen-redo.html?m=1 Next I applied 2 coats of Kettle Black with a roller and brush. I waited a few hours in between coats for ample dry time. Finally, I applied 2 clear coats to seal and protect the paint from wear. After:

Emily's Teacher Rocking Chair

This rocking chair was created as a gift for my student teacher, Emily. The rocking chair was painted with the colors of her new classroom. Emily loves owls so I painted a cute owl on the back part of the chair. Students helped me paint the rest of the chair after 2 coats of primer. I probably could've just done 1 coat of primer but went with 2!
