5.25.12 Sunroom Redo

This is my sunroom and sewing/craft room. It is stark white and could use some warm color. After: much better!

2.9.11 Kitchen Redo

This is not my kitchen but the cabinets are almost the exact same color as the ones in my kitchen. Time for a makeover! I did not want to take apart and sand my cabinets (lazy, right?) so I chose to use this Zissner cover stain. It is amazing stuff! You can find it at Lowe's. It covers and creates a surface that will be ready for your paint! http://www.lowes.com/pd_192480-90-3501_0 __    Here is my kitchen with a base coat in process. I decided to do two coats just to be sure my surface was prepared.    After one evening of drying time, I started painting my cabinets. I decided to go with Valspar paint from Lowe's. I chose Kettle Black .             After two coats of Kettle Black, I covered my cabinets with a coat of Valspar clear coat . This gave my cabinets another layer of protection.   Here are my finished cabinets! I am very pleased with the final product!...

Master Bath Redo

Well, I've updated the guest bath and now it's time to update my master bath. I painted the cabinets the same as in the guest bath.  After

The faucet was so close to the edge of the sink you had to rub against the back of the sink to get any water! I had been cruising Pinterest and the web for alternate cabinet solutions that I could afford. I was inspired by the idea from this website: http://timmonsfamilylemonade.blogspot.com/2010/09/cupboard-makeover-phase-1.html Here are some before pictures: Don't you love the 90's orange glow wood?  Here is the old faucet:  Here are the old "Hollywood Lights": I didn't want to remove the cabinets or sand them (lazy, I know!) so I used 2 coats of primer prior to painting the cabinet black. I also primed the medicine cabinet that was that same orangey wood color. While primer was drying I attacked the old light fixture.  Guess what was underneath?  A lovely hole in the sheet rock.  Of course the base of my new light fixture is round and won'...
